Arcola’s Green Sunday- 4th October
GREEN ISLAM CULTURE DAY
2.30-7.30pm Free Entry- All welcome
Arcola’s Green Sunday collaborates with the London Islamic Network for the Environment (LINE) to showcase some of the Muslim talent dedicated to ecology.
There will be live music from Poetic Pilgrimage – one of the few female Muslim Hip-Hop and spoken word outfits and Tarek El Diwany’s short film “Why are we all in Debt?” examines the current banking system and asks, “Is boom and bust inevitable? Why does the value of money keep on falling?” And, crucially, “Do we really have to live like this?”
October’s Green Sundays also pays homage to the Arcola’s theatrical roots with the ‘Theatre of the Oppressed’ – an interactive form of theatre where spectators become actors and improvise to explore and transform oppressive situations and relationships. No acting experience necessary and participation is completely voluntary. More Details
