Be Green and Gorgeous – Hong Kong embraces swop
NEXT SWOP – 4th March, from 7pm at the Culture Club, Elgin Street, Central
Follow the Queen Eco blog… live today!
Hong Kong welcomed swopping with open arms at our first Forever & Again party on 4th February. Over 80 ladies (and around four fellas) joined us for the first of what we hope will be a regular event. So that’s at least 80 items of clothing up for grabs. Highlights included Marc Jacobs shoes, gorgeous handbags, leather jackets, Miss Sixty jeans, H&M vests, Kurt Geiger pumps, books, accessories and scarves. Leftovers were taken to the Salvation Army in Wan Chai. We also made some money for Haiti Foundation.
If you could like to be kept informed about future events, please let us know.
So start saving up what you don’t need anymore to swop for stuff you want! You may also like to join our group on Facebook, search Forever & Again and you’ll find us.
Background
From a member of the team behind Green Sundays in London, with a little help from some cool and in-the-know friends, comes a swop shop for the fashionistas of Asia’s world city… We would like you to join us.
The rules are simple. Bring at least five items of used, but not abused, clothing and swap for something new (something new for you mind, not something that’s just rolled off the factory production line). Everyone’s a winner – you get rid of stuff you don’t any more, get stuff you do want and don’t add a single thing to the growing amount of waste we produce. This is recyling at its most chic.
So got a date to go to? New job starting? Need some new outfits but bit short on cash as it’s January? Coming swopping.
Saving the world starts in your wardrobe, literally – check out our tips for successful swopping on Queen Eco.
